Our Great Opportunity


We are looking for a Capacity Manager who will be a specialist in the IT Space. The role will require a detailed understanding of industry trends and opportunities and will be encouraged to build / amend and apply these to the development of the Capacity strategy. Strong people skills are essential.

The role inputs into the IT Service Operations functions, Demand Management, Availability Management, Capacity Management and IT Service Continuity Management for IOT (Internet Of Things) Services


You will:


  • Be responsibile for Capacity trend analysis for owned Services and Platform (Applications and Infrastructure) 
  • Generate Optimization recommendations based on analysis and received forecast
  • Provide regular Capacity reports (towards IT management) about capacity needs and requirements for new or modified IT services
  • Maintain an overall understanding of current service capacity and trends
  • Ensure that performance testing is carried out on new and modified IT services
  • Work to proactively provide sufficient IT capacity
  • Produce and maintains a Capacity & Demand Plan
  • Ensure that capacity & demand related incidents and problems are addressed
  • Participate on the Change Advisory Board (CAB) as needed
  • Be responsible for supervising IT capacity levels, comparing actual levels against targets, and addressing shortfalls
  • Assist in optimizing the capability of ITS infrastructure, services and supporting organizations to deliver an efficient and sustained level of service availability that meets business requirements.
  • Implement ITSM-aligned Availability Management policies, processes and procedures
  • Optimize ITS services by driving efficient improvements to help to meet the availability requirements of the business as defined in the SLAs.
  • Assist in the improvement of availability by producing and maintaining Availability plans and ensuring appropriate corrective action is highlighted to address shortfalls in performance against availability requirements.
  • Assist in ensuring that current and future capacity and performance aspects of the IT infrastructure are provided to meet business requirements at acceptable cost.


To be successful in the role you must have:


  • Degree level education with a proven all-round knowledge of IT and its use within a business environment.
  • Solid problem-solving skills.
  • Resilient, confident and tenacious.
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Technical experience in IT/Infrastructure landscape (eg: Vmware , OpenShift/Kubernetes/Docker, Application servers, Databases)
  • Common integration scripting (eg: pearl, shell, python)
  • The position holder must be capable of working on their own initiative within the procedures and guidelines laid down.
  • The ability to communicate with all levels of staff, management and up to senior management level.
  • Work experience gained in companies and projects in IT, telecommunications, industrial, etc. with an autonomous organization of IT operations and experience in designing and/or testing of software applications is a plus
