Site Inspector - Lead Auditor

As Site Inspector / Lead Auditor within Field Service Organization unit your main responsible is to perform audits on the radio sites to assure quality at the radio sites, quality of the works performed in the field by the build partner and own field engineers and to perform site acceptance inspections and audits works done based on quality criteria, document deficiencies and report on improvement areas.

 

As Lead Auditor, you shall perform inspections yourself and you shall oversee the overall quality plan and scope of the audits and secure the inspections are consistence between the other auditors in the team. You will act as a Subject Matter Expert in this matter, and you shall make sure the check-lists are up to date and the knowledge is spread over the respective team.

 

The role includes the acceptance of RAN sites to be transferred from Build to Operations (C2/C3 inspections), following the acceptance procedure, audit the sites, define deficiencies, and collect/report the punches, based on defined criteria. Next to that, the role is to perform audits of the cyclic preventive maintenance performed on the site (PM/GPM) and as well as performing some corrections of on the spot of site deficiencies identified during the audits.

 

Sporadically, we will request you to implement some modifications on the site, such as SW corrections, implementation of new environment equipment, implement some parameter changes, etc.

 

This role entails radio site visits to perform the inspections in Belgium and sporadically in Luxembourg.  The desk work can be done from home and from the Zaventem office.

 

You will be integrated in the Regional Field Operations team and you will work closely with the Quality Assurance Team.

 

Responsibilities

Site Inspector / Lead Auditor responsibilities contain the following:

  • Prepare the site audits by collecting the site documentation (As-Build, PIF, STC, etc) with the purpose to verify the reality at the site versus the design
  • Perform sites inspections for site acceptance for sites being transferred from Build to Operate (C2/C3 inspection), identifying deficiencies, reporting on punches and tracking.
    • You shall check the site design drawings and verify if the site construction is according to the design drawings and the Build Permit, check the PIF, STC, etc.
    • You must analyse and understand the site stability in order to identify the works to perform and if the works are performed in accordance to the site stability agreements.
    • Check all safety aspects at the sites. Check Safe To Climb rules, identify deficiencies and define the actions to solve the infractions
    • Check the electrical installation and verify the installation against the electrical regulations (RGIE), identify deficiencies and define actions to solve the infractions
    • Check the radio equipment installation, transmission installation, alarm connectivity, cable installation, labelling, etc. and eventually make some corrections on the spot, if possible
    • Check the radio path with Site Master, check the antenna azimuth, check antenna connectors, feeders and jumpers (visual check of waterproof and physical check on installation correctness), checking earthing connectivity, feeder earthing kits, lightning protection, etc.
    • Check the environment installation, airco/freecooling installation, power installation, etc
    • For this purpose, working on height and climbing in the tower is required. Pictures and information shall be collected and become part of the audit report accompanied with the punches
  • Perform sites inspections during or after execution of the Preventive Maintenance activity performed by other teams (PM/GPM)
    • Check and validate the Preventive Maintenance is performed adequately, identify anomalies of the PM tasks, report them and eventually correct them on the spot if possible.
    • Check the environment installation, airco/freecooling installation, power installation, etc, and implement any corrections if possible
  • Perform joint audits with customer in the scope of C2/C3 or PM/GPM quality audits performed by customer
  • Document the ways of working, train other team members, securing the inspections are performed consistently by other auditors. You shall suggest solutions for identified recurring problems and investigate quality problems in order to make improvements to achieve better quality and avoid reoccurrence of the issues
  • You shall provide feedback to the Build Partner, build team and other teams, to assure recurring problems are being avoided for the next project.
  • Identify quality assurance process bottleneck and suggest actions for improvement
  • On specific request, you will work on project based work and you will implement some modifications on the site, such as SW upgrades, implementation of new environment equipment, implement some parameter changes, etc.
  • Visit the radio sites to audit the field engineers and works done by our 3PP
  • You will need to climb in the radio mast to perform the inspections entirely.
  • Prepare and present reports and metrics and identify key KPIs for quality and eventually consider automation to retrieve reports and statistics.
  • Communicate with the team to plan and execute inspections and audits in a timely fashion.
  • Keep the database updated following the result of operations, update the check-lists when required
  • Able to support or solve issues escalated internally, subcontractors, owner complaints, site owner request or identified in the field during preventive/curative maintenance.

 

Knowledge areas

  • You have a large expertise in radio site building and constructions projects
  • Knowledge and good understanding of site design guidelines is a must
  • You must be able to read and understand site design drawings and Build Permit documentation and must have a good understanding of Site Stability aspects and requirements.
  • You must have an excellent understanding of Site Safety and Safe To Climb rules
  • Knowledge of RGIE rules is a must.
  • Knowledge of ZTE RAN and Ericsson RAN is a must to check internal or external alarms of the site which need to be checked during the site audit
  • You shall have practical experience in installation and maintenance of radio sites.
  • You shall have a good understanding of Health and Safety at Work and First Aid; excellent understanding of applicable regulations, policies and procedures for radio sites
  • You have good communicative skills, excellent command of the English language and preferably also master the Dutch and French language.
  • Certificate compulsory GOF4, BA5. You shall have the experience to climb in the radio mast.
  • Team Player, Analytical, Persuasive and user- friendly communicator
  • Customer focused and Result-oriented.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Driving license cat B
  • Capable to work effectively with Windows PC and knowledge of Microsoft – Excel – Outlook – Access – Word and capable to work with advanced apps on the mobile or tablet.

 

 

Other Info

  • Location: Belgium, main office in Zaventem
  • Working Time: 38,6 hours per week
  • PC and appropriate software (Android apps) and Android phone will be provided by Ericsson
  • Craftsman toolbox, certified climbing gear and material will be provided by Ericsson.
  • Appropriate salary package, service car and fuel card will be included in the salary package.
