Position Summary

 

We are looking for a regional Head of Talent Management and Development within People function in Market Area North East Asia (Mainland China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong). This role will be based in Beijing, China, and report to Head of People, Market Area North East Asia (MNEA)

 

This position is responsible for end-to-end Talent Management and Development in MNEA, including MNEA talent strategies, approaches, and delivery. It is focused on internal talents’ competence assessment, mapping, development and succession from rapid high potential, emerging leaders, and executive leaders against the business key positions. It is focused on the best-in-class approaches or ad hoc critical talent projects such as career framework, performance management, and succession plan. This role is in the leadership team of MNEA People function, Global Talent Management function and Global Learning & Development function and contributing to the Global teams from the wanted talent strategy standpoint.

 

 

Responsibilities & Tasks

 

  • Provide strategic direction on important developments within the talent management scope which may include assessing and advising on organizational structure, resource allocation, engagement and culture transformation.
  • Lead succession planning and discussion for key positions, and design individual development actions for key talents.
  • Lead the process of talent review to assess the leadership potential of key talents and measure the depth of the talent pipeline. Partner with People BPs to build, update and maintain talent pool on regular basis.
  • Partner with People BPs to design on talent retention activities.
  • Drive and manage talent develop solutions for selected key talents including monitoring scope, providing updates, managing schedules, budget and performance.

 

Position Qualifications

 

  • Master and above degree in Management, Talent Management, Organizational Behavior/Psychology or Leadership is preferred.
  • 10+ years strategic human resources experience gained in a highly regarded consulting or Fortune 500 company with best-in-class performance management and talent management practices.
  • Experience in a large complex / matrix driven corporate environments with exposure to diverse projects & cultures across country boarders.
  • Proven track record of building, maintaining and leading talent pools and pipelines, running talent calibration exercises.
  • Able to converse with senior leaders in business language and quickly grasp the expressed needs of the business and translate these into people needs.
  • Good project management and organizational skills.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication in both Mandarin and English.
