Our Exciting Opportunity:

Ericsson Austin is looking for a senior python developer to help automate semiconductor development flows for the worldwide Digital ASIC & FPGA team developing new 5G network infrastructure hardware. The front-end Flow Developer role requires a candidate with strong customer-orientation and horizontal leadership capacity.


You will:

  • Consult with stakeholder teams in automating semiconductor development methodology
  • Develop / improve, maintain, and support an integrated suite of front-end semiconductor development flows covering design, verification, and front-end implementation across all levels of the development environment (i.e. IP, subsystem, and full-chip). 
  • Develop proprietary tools that provide a competitive edge
  • Liaise with internal and external IT, tool, and infrastructure providers


To be successful in the role, you must have:

  • Master of Science (EE, CompE, or CS) with at least 1 year of relevant industry experience  -or- equivalent
  • Passion for, and demonstrated experience in, enabling self & others through flow automation & advanced methodology  
  • Strong debug capabilities, with cross-functional development flow / environment experience 
  • Significant programming experience using Python 


You might also have:

  • DevOps or other flow development, maintenance, and improvement experience 
  • Database setup and administration (e.g. mySQL, or enterprise database solutions)
  • Programming experience with C/C++ (preferred), and/or other high-level languages (such as: SystemC, Java, JavaScript) and other scripting languages (such as: Perl, Ruby, Tcl, Shell)
  • Code Repository setup, management, branching/merging experience (using ClearCase, Git, Perforce, and/or Subversion)
  • Continuous Integration / Deployment (CI / CD) setup using tools (e.g. Jenkins)
  • Batch job environment administration: LSF, Gridware, or equivalent 
  • Hardware Description Language knowledge (e.g. VHDL, Verilog, SystemVerilog)
