About this opportunity


We are looking for a Certification Manager that will lead, plan and coordinate all activities related to Ericsson telecom equipment Certification in Kazakhstan and will handle the relationship with external organizations that provide certifications, in particular:


  • Declarations and Certificates of Conformity with the safety and EMC requirements prescribed in the technical regulations of Kazakhstan and the Customs Union
  • Metrology Certification, Permissions for import of Telecom equipment
  • Leading other activities related to HW&SW import (including Customs Clearance) and pre-conditions for starting commercial operations in Kazakhstan.



What you will do


The main role of the Certification Manager will be to secure required permissions (related to certification) on imported Ericsson telecom HW&SW for logistics and commercial operations conducted by the Telecom Operator in Kazakhstan and Customs Union countries. In detail, this means:


  • Develop strategy and plan/handle budget for Certification and other relevant activities in Kazakhstan.
  • Coordinate planned Certification activities both with Ericsson personnel (product managers, sales and delivery teams) and external Certification specialists.
  • Select and propose Certification partners (Body/Center/Laboratory) and get required internal approvals for partner onboarding.
  • Negotiate contracts with partners in order to complete Certification activities, including budget calculations in scope of approved limits for the country.
  • Manage the Certification project execution according to agreed plan, budget and scope.
  • Manage required human resources within the Certification project.
  • Manage risks: timely identification and mitigation actions fulfilment.
  • Plan and coordinate Import Certification activities for HW and SW products containing Cryptography functionality in the Customs Union.
  • Manage Import Certification for radio transmitting products in Kazakhstan.
  • Coordinate “Single-Delivery” Certificates for each shipment.
  • Run EMC and Safety Certification.
  • Coordinate and participate in factory tests, when required.
  • Run and support local LI (SORM) Certification activities in agreed project frameworks.
  • Collaborate with and support Certification Managers from other countries.
  • Monitor Telecommunication Legislation/Regulatory Requirements situation within the country and consider during project planning/execution accordingly.
  • Be aware of Certification procedures in other countries and use it during project execution.
  • Establish and keep good relations within the Certification community.



You will bring

  • Master’s degree, preferably in Engineering.
  • Experience in Certification area in Kazakhstan (at least 3 years).
  • High degree of focus on customer needs and expectations.
  • Knowledge of local country instructions and Regulations.
  • Knowledge of Certification processes in Kazakhstan.
  • General knowledge of the certification process in the Customs Union countries.
  • General knowledge of Telecom area/product.
  • Good planning and organizational skills.
  • Fluent English level


Nice to have:

  • Experience in project management.
  • Knowledge of legal requirements in Telecommunication in Kazakhstan.
