Our Exciting Opportunity

Be part of a collaborative, fast-paced, high-performance organization in a diverse team working with ground-breaking technology! For our Ericsson Research team in Herzogenrath we are looking for a smart, flexible, and technically creative talent to strengthen our efforts in driving concepts for public safety (police, fire brigades, etc) or automotive use cases. You will work in a team to define and standardize technology in particular in 3GPP RAN2. We welcome your application!

You will

  • Work in a research project that defines the future of mobile networks by working with 5G and 6G concepts
  • Perform studies for specific use cases in the public safety or automotive domain and evaluate the performance of developed concepts
  • Support 3GPP standardization activities by writing and reviewing contributions
  • Document findings in research reports and publications
  • Communicate your project results to both specialists and partners in business units
  • Work in a dynamic and multi-functional research department where there will be great opportunities for continuous learning

To be successful in the role you must have

  • PhD or Master's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or similar
  • Hands-on programming experience in at least 1 language - we mainly use Java, C++ and MATLAB
  • Potentially some experience with radio access technology and in particular RAN protocols
  • Creativity and ability to work independently paired with excellent team working skills
  • Structured, organized and independent working style with attention to quality, detail and accuracy
  • Business-English is a must, German an asset
